Queen Bee was an art piece in which I wanted to experiment with mixed media through the use of Photoshop. For this work, I incorporated digital painting, overlays, and vector illustrations. I was interested in creating an appearance of found objects being collaged together, to create a cohesive design. I made the subject matter bees, because I wanted to spread awareness about the dying population. But also, I have always been intrigued by bees in art and how they are integrated in different ways. Additionally, during the time I created this piece I could relate to the worker bees, so this art piece was inspired by a personal experience.
