Broadway in Cincinnati partnered with Miami University’s Arts Management program to create a community engagement project that embodied the thematic content of the musical, “Dear Evan Hansen.” When We Were Found took on the role of campaign that would be displayed during the run of “Dear Evan Hansen” at the Aronoff Center. The engagement project consisted of ten posters distributed around the theatre and a website that the audience could interact with before or after the show. The site includes a digital catalogue of original student artwork, national mental health statistics and personal wellness resources designed to destigmatize mental and behavioral health issues; as well as information on crisis intervention resources throughout Greater Cincinnati. The goal of the project was to give a better understanding of mental health and self-care to those who may not experience the burden of anxiety, depression or other mental health conditions.
